At Dogward Bound, we prioritize your dog's safety, health, and happiness during their stay with us. Whether your dog is here for a short visit or an extended stay, our team is dedicated to providing a comfortable and secure environment. We treat every dog like family, providing a safe and loving space for them to enjoy while you're away.
In Case of Injury or Illness: It's essential to have an emergency plan in place for your dog's well-being. Minor injuries or illnesses, such as gastrointestinal issues or a small cut, are treated on-site with a follow-up notification via email or text. Suppose symptoms persist for more than two days. In that case, we require veterinary intervention, and you will be responsible for making arrangements for pickup and medication.
For more severe emergencies, we will immediately contact you by phone. Please ensure you have a transport plan for emergency vet visits.
Our family lives on-site, and our office is open for scheduled drop-offs and pickups. We ask that you adhere to your appointment time as we run a structured cleaning, feeding, and exercise schedule. If you're running late, please let us know via call or email.
Due to the nature of our facility, we ask that you visit only during office hours. We don't accept unscheduled visitors for your dog's safety and privacy.
If your dog damages our property, such as fencing, dog beds, or bowls, we ask that you replace the item or cover the repair costs. If you're concerned about damage, feel free to use your beds or bowls.
Dogs participating in our exercise program may get dirty or muddy. If your dog needs a bath, we will notify you and offer this service for a fee. Additionally, if your dog experiences an accident in their kennel run, we will clean them and inform you.
We accommodate all breeds, but aggressive or highly anxious dogs require special handling. If your dog exhibits destructive behaviors, we may need to adjust their accommodations or ask you to pick them up early. We encourage you to have a contingency plan for such situations.
To ensure your dog's comfort, avoid overfeeding or overtreating it before their stay, as this can lead to gastrointestinal issues. Maintaining their routine at home will help ease anxiety and ensure a smooth transition to our facility.
To keep all dogs safe, we recommend the following vaccinations: Rabies, Distemper, Parvo, and Bordetella. Please consult your veterinarian to determine the best vaccination protocol for your dog before boarding. Note that no vaccination is 100% effective, and there is always some risk when boarding.
Please bring your dog's food in a sealed container or individual bags for their stay. While we offer food throughout the day, some dogs may experience a slight change in eating habits. Rest assured, any unused food will be returned.
We offer an exercise package that includes access to 12 fenced-in yards. Dogs will be rotated throughout the day for playtime and exercise. However, extreme weather conditions may prevent us from using the exercise yards. We may adjust their exercise package if your dog is anxious or destructive.
We can administer medications, but you must provide clear instructions and supplies, such as pill pockets or peanut butter. Please enter this information into your online account to ensure we have all the details.
Reservations must be made online, and a 25% non-refundable deposit is required. We charge per night, with additional fees for late pickup after office hours. We accept online payments, cash, or checks. Clients are responsible for all booked kennel days, even if they return early.
At Dogward Bound, dogs are not socialized with their dogs from other families. Instead, we focus on meeting each dog's instincts by providing mental stimulation and physical activity through play and human interaction. We ensure every dog has plenty of attention and the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of our mountain-top facility.
We do not take individual photos of dogs during their stay, as we focus on providing personalized care. However, we occasionally take pictures for our website or social media, and we'll notify you if your dog is featured.
Our facility is meticulously cleaned and sanitized twice a day. All kennels, bowls, and cots are thoroughly disinfected to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for your dog.
At Dogward Bound, we provide personalized care and a safe environment for your dog. If you're ready to schedule a stay or have questions, please get in touch with us.
